Public safety and crime prevention continues with surveillance cameras installations
Since 2014 the Municipality has used audio and/or video surveillance
systems to deter and detect crime and behaviour such as theft, vandalism and
unauthorized entry. Council recently amended the Municipal Audio and Video
Recording Policy. Please click here to view the Policy.

Cameras are located at the Municipal Office (3550 Main Street), the Access
Centre (48 Holland Road) and the Public Works Yard (1159 Kapelus Drive).
Installation of three new cameras, in locations approved by Council, have been
completed at the entrance/exit points of Legend Estates at Pipeline Road, River
Edge at Ward Way, and The Trails of West St. Paul at River Trail Drive.
Each area subject to surveillance is identified by clearly posted signs.
The camera views at the three developments, as shown below, are limited to the roadway and have sufficient resolution to capture licence plate information. The camera footage does not include any private property. The footage will only be accessed in response to an incident that has been reported or suspected.
The added surveillance cameras are now operational.
